This is a fairly heavy multi-tool that is designed to handle larger jobs. The bit driver and the blade exchanger (for saws and files) allow it to pack in a lot of versatilty. It comes with wood saw and diamond-grit file/metal saw blades and a two-blade holder. Because the file is not built in it can also be used to sharpen the various blades on the Surge. I added a diamond-grit metal/stone saw blade to my kit and have other specialized blades that I can substitute when needed.
The v2 upgrade to the Surge made the wire cutters replaceable and improved the design of the blade exchanger. The small bit driver was replaced with a small 3mm (1/8") slotted driver, but an opening in the plier-head end of the closed tool will hold a small 1.6mm (1/16") bit.
